While Jessica and Elisabeth and their families visited us weekend before last, we celebrated a couple of birthdays.....mine, which was on Oct. 8th and Thad's, which will be on Nov. 5th.  When it came time to blow out the candles on the cupcakes, Thad was watching me blow my candle out while Chance was blowing Thad's out!  :D

We had such a good time at the Green Dell Farm in Thomasville, NC. Lots of photo opportunities. The weather was perfect, even if a little cloudy! It was actually good that it was cloudy because when the clouds went away, it actually got hot!

Higher Ways

With DH's health issues and the trials and tribulations the "C" word brings into our lives, I've been thinking about some different scriptures and that helps to strengthen and give me peace and calm in my spirit. I believe that everything I go through as a Christian is allowed by God for my good and His glory. So, He will bring us through this, no matter what the ultimate outcome is.

I used the inspiration from the workbook in this beautiful kit to get the ideas for my page. The affirmations in the workbook are for the word "growth" and so I googled "spiritual growth affirmations" and found the one I used for this page: "I make time for my spiritual practice daily"

I used bits and pieces from every part of the bundle in the creation of my page.

Nature's Muse by b.j. designs

LOVE this picture Kara's mommy, Jessica took!  And the face paint on Kara is so pretty!  This background paper was the PERFECT fit!  :D  I recolored the flourishes so they could be seen against the background easier.  A preview of the kit is below my layout.

Painted Earth by b.j. designs

Fall Has Begun. I made up this little poem to go with this photo I took today. I tweeked the brown leaves to make them red, yellow and orange.  I also duplicated the photo and then blended it into the bg paper and reduced the opacity to allow the wonderful texture to show through.

Check out the preview of the paper pack below, which includes beautifully extracted leaves.
I enlarged Thad's photo, layered it on top of the background and blended it into the background using the soft light mode and reduced the opacity to 75%.

Here's some fun photos I took while visiting my son and family in Maryland. One day Jessica, Kara and I got some subs from Subway and went to a park to eat. After lunch, Kara rolled down the hill while Jessica and I took pictures! That was some tangled hair after she was through!

DARE to Release Your Fear by Angie Young Designs

Perfect Love
As soon as I saw this kit of Angie's, I thought of this verse: 1 John 4:18 (NKJV) "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." And then after getting the kit I found the perfect piece of art in the kit that says the same as this verse, "Love is the only thing that can cast out fear." How cool is that? Great kit!

Life Upside Down

I had this wonderful photo of Ryan that I wanted to do something with, so I googled "life upside down" and who would know that I would find a poem with the exact title that worked exactly with my page! So, the link led me to a Christian lady on Hub Pages, user name of lambservant, Lori Colbo. She is a grandma and wrote this poem for her grandson. I asked her for permission to use the poem on my page and let her know I would be posting it in different places on the web.
