Rain Dance

Rain Dance

Done for the AnnaLift Challenge 05.12.23 - 05.26.23 found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/annalift-challenge-05-12-23-05-26-23.37627/

Journaling reads:  Who doesn’t LOVE playing in the rain?  We used to do it all the time when we were growing up!  I remember finding puddles on our porch and lying on my stomach right in the middle of the puddle to pretend  to be swimming.  So, watching our grandchildren, Hannah and Ryan, play in the rain brought back sweet memories and joy to my heart as I watched them play!

My inspirations from Ksacry’s layout, “Such a Day” was the whole theme of the layout…..rain and colors.

Mother’s Day Weekend 2023

Done for the MultiPhoto Challenge #7 found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/may-challenge-7-multiphotos.37555/

Journaling reads (left to right):  Jessica and Elisabeth planned a secret weekend spent with me!  Jessica arrived Friday night.  We spent all day Saturday together and then we all attended church together on Sunday, eating lunch together before Jessica headed back home.  It was a wonderful weekend!

Elisabeth gave me a hanging pot of beautiful, red begonias!  Hopefully I will not kill them too soon!

Jessica and Araya, Elisabeth, Hannah and Abby, and I spent Saturday together at an Art Festival in Lexington, shopping and lunch in Thomasville, and the afternoon at Elisabeth’s.  Brad was a sweetheart and fixed a grilled chicken and veggies supper for us and then went for ice cream for us later in the evening!  What a guy!

Love of Family

Done for the Use It All Challenge found here: https://oscraps.com/community/threads/use-it-all-challenge-with-karen-schulz-may-2023.37554/

Shown in this photo are my daughters, daughters- in-law, granddaughter and sister-in-law from my first marriage. This is a picture taken at the reception for Mark and I in September after we married in July. My husband had died of cancer the previous year. It means so much to me that ALL of my girls were happy for us when Mark and I got married, especially Tim’s sister! She and Tim’s mother told me that Tim would be OK with our marriage! 9/1/18

May Challenges at OScraps

I noticed I have several pages in my gallery at OScraps (link on the right) that I have not shared here.  So before I post about the new challenges for the Merry Month of May I'll take care of those.

Done for the Anna Color Challenge found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/annacolor-challenge-04-14-2023-04-27-2023.37506/

Left

Journaling reads:

According to the Almanac, April’s full Moon drifted into the sky on the night of Wednesday, April 5, reaching peak illumination at 12:37 a.m. EDT on the 6th! Traditionally called the Pink Moon, this full Moon was also the Paschal full Moon this year. I took these photos around 10 p.m. on April 5th.

This year, April’s full Moon was the first full Moon of the spring season, which began with the spring equinox on March 20, 2023. This means that April’s full Moon was the Paschal Full Moon—an important Moon to those who celebrate Easter, since Easter’s date depends on the date of the Paschal Full Moon.

Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon (i.e., the first full Moon of spring), which means that it was to be celebrated this year on Sunday, April 9 (following the full Moon on April 5-6).

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!    April 7th

I’ve been on a decluttering kick and part of that kick has been using up some of my yarn stash.  So, in as many months, this is the second sweater I have made for myself!  I currently have another one in the works, but I have lost my mojo....for now!  April 3rd

We’ve had a lot of rainy and/or overcast days this month.  April 6th

Iron…..get real

I finally realized it is easier to change the sheets on our bed when I raise the head of our bed!  Way to use the “head”, Vicky!  What took you so long?  4/25/23

Buttercup

Journaling reads:

Buttercups are a large genus of flowering plants called Ranunculus. It has yellow, shiny petals, and grows wild in many places. It is poisonous to eat for humans and cattle, but when dry the poison is not active.

People sometimes hold a fresh buttercup flower under the chin of a friend or family member. If a yellow reflection from the flower's shiny petals can be seen under the chin, the person is said to "like butter". This custom is still taught to young children and shows how buttercup petals reflect light.

Journaling reads:  The purpose for God’s beautiful flowers is for our pleasure and His glory!

I have been wanting to get a picture of this beautiful crimson clover for several years.  I finally made a trip on purpose.

I’m READY to FLY Away!

Done for the May 2023 Color Play Challenge #4 found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/may-challenge-4-color-play.37528/

Journaling reads:  Psalm 90:10

“As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years,

Or if due to strength, eighty years,

Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow;

For soon it is gone and we fly away.”

Even though my wings are battered and torn

by the toils and hardships of life

they will not keep me from taking flight

Last, but not least, here is a miscellaneous page I did.  It actually should have been included with my April Monthly Review pages since it is about my DH's April birthday.  But, I guess he deserves his own page!  ðŸ˜‰

Birthday Celebration

Done for the Anna Color Challenge found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/annacolor-challenge-04-28-2023-05-11-2023.37561/

Journaling reads:

Mark and I do not buy gifts for each other.  Instead we go out to eat (which is ALWAYS a gift to me, actually!).  To celebrate his birthday Mark debated between seafood and steak.  The seafood won the debate because it was closer!  Happy Birthday, my love!   4/29/23
