Rainy Day Feelings

Fiddlette Designs is one of the featured designers this month at Oscraps and you can find her shop here:  Digital Art and Scrapbook Designs by Fiddlette Designs | Oscraps

I used one of her kits for the following layout:

Rainy Day Feelings

Journaling reads:  I sat in the car, waiting on Mark to rescue me, all the while praying that the car’s engine was OK……

We went to lunch at Mama Mia’s.  I took Mark and Noah back to work and returned to CVS to pick up Mark’s prescriptions.  Pulling out of the parking lot the car died.  I started it back up and drove towards home.  The car was running rough.  I happened to look down at the panel and saw the engine light on.  OH, NO!  I immediately pulled off the road into Amigos’ parking lot.  I shut the engine off and called Mark.  He left work and came to the rescue.  After raising the hood he checked the oil.  No oil appeared on the dip stick!  He drove to Advanced Auto and got oil and a funnel.  He poured almost the entire 5 qt. Container into the reservoir before it began to register on the dip stick!  After starting the car the “rattle” we had been hearing for awhile now had disappeared.  That “rattle” was ALWAYS an indication to me that it was time for oil in one of my other cars.  But Mark didn’t think that was the problem for this newer car.  Well, now we know for sure that when I hear the “rattle” I am to tell Mark to check the oil!  Mark unplugged the battery to reset the engine light.  We are praising the Lord that the engine “seems” to be OK!  I guess we will find out soon enough if not!  Thank You, Lord!  1/24/24

he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.”

Home Sweet Home

Let’s Get Cozy Kit - Sweet Doll Designs | Jan 14 - 20 Found here:  https://www.oscraps.com/shop/Lets-get-cozy-by-Sweet-Doll.html

Journaling reads:  I am so blessed to be able to stay at home.  The money is tight, especially since Mark’s hours have been cut to 32 hours per week the last couple of years.  But, thank the Lord for my social security and investments that have kept our heads somewhat above water.  It could be better, but it could be so much worse!  The Lord is supplying all of our needs and even a few wants!  Thank You, Lord!

     I am also blessed to be a part of a great digital scrapbook team, the CheeryO’s, at OScraps!  They are all so kind and bring their talents from all over the world to create beautiful pages and spread those beautiful creations around the globe!  But we couldn’t do what we do without the talented designers!  Thank you for the great opportunity to work with your creations as we scrap our memories!

     As I look forward to another year of memory keeping, I am thankful for the memories made this year that I have been able to scrap.  Those memories become history!  And I am able to record the history of our lives from the comforts of home, sweet home!

     Philippians 4:19 KJV - “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Challenges at OScraps

Red Lion Amaryllis

Done for the Through the Lens Challenge found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/january-challenge-3-through-the-lens.38934/

Journaling reads:  My SIL and I have been watching this amaryllis blooming since December.  There were 3 obvious buds on each stalk and then several weeks ago a 4th bud appeared.  The other buds blossomed and the blooms were spent by the time the 4th buds bloomed.  The first 3 on each stalk did not open the way this last bud did, however!  According to the picture included with the bulb, they all should have opened like this 4th one!  These last 2 blooms certainly are pretty!  1/15/24

So Special

Done for the Recipe Challenge found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/january-challenge-4-recipe.38922/

Journaling reads:  The time I get to spend with my children is very special to me.  We live so far apart and they are so busy raising their families that I cherish every moment they are with me.  Our get-togethers are too few and far between.  This year’s Christmas gathering did not include Michael.  He became sick with the flu the day before they would travel.  We all missed him and his family terribly!  This photo was taken after church on 1/14/24.

I used 3 foliage for the top cluster and duplicated 2 of them for the bottom cluster.

I used 3 flower elements for the top cluster and duplicated 2 of them for the bottom cluster.

The other 2 elements are the dots in the corners and the paper strips (dots and strips are from the template) behind the photo.

The confetti is obvious.

The 5 papers are:  1 - the BG, 2 - clipped to the corner dots, 3,4,and 5 - clipped to the paper strips behind the photo.

This is the Moment

Done for the Freebie Challenge found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/january-challenge-6-freebie.38940/

Journaling reads:  The Red Lion Amaryllis that Jennifer Day gave to me when she visited right before Thanksgiving is finally in full bloom!  The color is beautiful!  Red is my favorite color!  I sent her pictures every day of the progress of the blooming.  And little did we know that the usual 3 blooms per stalk was not going to be the end of the beauty.  One more bloom per stalk would appear and open to be more beautiful than the other six!  January 7, 2024

Fantasy Meeting You Here!

Fantasy Meeting You Here

Done for the Fantasy Challenge found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/january-challenge-2-storybook-fantasy.38923/

From high above on their perch, the birds observe the townspeople enjoying a day of relaxation around the frozen pond at the edge of town, as the Polar Express approaches.  This must be an expected event as the people are not disturbed by its approach, nor are the cattle bothered by the nearness of the wolf.  The wonder of it all!

The Master of My Ship

The Master of My Ship

Journaling reads: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”  Romans 6:14 (KJV). Other translations of the Bible render the word “dominion” as having the mastery over you.  Once saved, sin is not to be our master!  Jesus is our new Master!  We don’t have to do, do, do good things to get to heaven!  All of our good deeds are as filthy rags in God’s sight (Isaiah 64:6).  Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for my sins has washed me clean in God’s sight! (1 Corinthians 6:11). But, until I am taken to my eternal home I still have to deal with the sinful desires of this sinful flesh!  The tempest rages some days!  But, when I allow Him to, He takes the oar and guides me around the treacherous rocks and takes me to shore!  Oh, I’m looking forward to that heavenly, peaceful haven of rest!  1/5/24

Peace!  Be Still!

By Mary Ann Baker

1 Master, the tempest is raging! The billows are tossing high!

The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness, No shelter or help is nigh;

Carest thou not that we perish?”  How canst thou lie asleep,

When each moment so madly is threat’ning A grave in the angry deep?

Chorus:

The winds and the waves shall obey thy will.  "Peace, be still!"

Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea, Or struggles or evil, whatever it be,

No water can swallow the ship where lies the Master of ocean and earth and skies:

They all shall sweetly obey thy will.  "Peace, be still! Peace, be still!"

They all shall sweetly obey thy will.  "Peace, peace, be still!”

2 Master, with anguish of spirit I bow in my grief today;

The depths of my sad heart are troubled, Oh, waken and save, I pray;

Torrents of sin and of anguish Sweep o’er my sinking soul!

And I perish! I perish, dear Master:  Oh, hasten and take control.

3 Master, the terror is over, The elements sweetly rest;

Earth’s sun in the calm lake is mirrored, And heaven’s within my breast.

Linger, O blessed Redeemer, Leave me alone no more;

And with joy I shall make the blest harbor, And rest on the blissful shore.
