Process:  I used one of the paint elements from the kit as a clipping mask for an artsy paper behind the photo. I also used the round frame as a clipping mask for a paper from the solid paper pack. The background is a painted paper. All of the elements are from the kit.

Vicki Robinson at O'Scraps

I have been creating layouts for the Project 52 Challenge at Just Art Scrapbooking.  Beginning at the first of January, each week focuses on a letter of the alphabet.  The challenge is to create a layout that focuses on a word beginning with the letter of the week.  So far I have used all products from Vicki Robinson's shop at O'Scraps.  The link to her shop is HERE.  The specific kits are clickable.

Winter Solstice by Laitha at O'Scraps

Journaling:  It was a frigid night to be trying to take pictures of the blood moon!  Mark helped me get the tripod set up and the camera focused in on the moon as my fingers were numb with cold.  What a beautiful site, indeed!

Process:  The papers are from the Page Kit.  The top paper has an overlay blended into it.  The photo is clipped to one of the Blend elements.  Behind the photo is one of the Light elements and several elements from the Stamps pack that are blended into the background.  The stars are from the Page kit.  I duplicated them and brought a layer above the photo and cut out the area over the moon.  I blended that layer of stars into the photo, duplicating the layer to make the stars more visible.  The lower right hand cluster is made up of a tag stack and an ornament from the Add On kit, a plain tag from the Page kit, and a branch from the Painted Clusters pack.  I erased part of the ornament to make it appear to be hanging over the branch.

Since the subject is lunch, I decided to use a paper from the traditional paper pack to create a cafe awning.  The diagonal stripes give the effect of a wave.  I created the scalloped clipping mask using the shape tool in PSE15.

52 Inspirations 2021 at O'Scraps

Hangers

It’s the end of a decade!!

For 10+ years we’ve been using these small blue hangers. They’ve held precious little baby outfits and stinky, muddy soccer uniforms. We had no idea, when we started buying hangers in Jan 2010, that we’d have two boys 17 months apart that would share them and the clothes we hung on them. For the last 3 years they’ve been stepped on and broken, used as weapons and Frisbees, and hopefully been the reason both closets have been a mess with clothes littering the floor. Because our little boys are growing into their older bodies with bigger shoulders and bigger clothes. And, as parents, our responsibility to guide and direct these precious boys is so important. On to bigger hangers and bigger struggles and bigger lessons and bigger joys! Who knew hangers could mean so much!

Layouts and Shop News at O'Scraps

The forum and gallery at O'Scraps has been unavailable since the weekend due to an upgrade.  I've been told they are getting close to bringing it back online!  Thank you for your patience!

In the meantime, the shop is still open, so I have been working with a few items that I will share shop links with you here.
