Life’s Adventures Spread

It's that time of the year...the weather is warmer and so it's time for the bike riding to begin!  Get the helmets and the camera!  Get your gloves and your bike legs, Mark!  It's time to ride!!  3/11/25

Mark came home from work dog tired!  I said, "It's so pretty, would you consider riding to Ruby Tuesday for supper?  He said that since it was the first trip of the year, he was afraid the clutch would give him problems.  But he cranked it up, tested it in the driveway and found it was good to go!  So we cleaned off the pollen and headed out!

There was not a cloud in the sky!  The temperature was around 70 degrees.  With the sun shining brightly, it was perfect weather!
According to the GPS, it is 9.7 miles from our driveway to Ruby Tuesday...15 min, depending on the traffic!  A good thing when you are hungry!
After we got our seats and began looking at the menu I remembered that I had put a pumpkin pie in the oven!  So we had to order our food to go and get back home!  At least we had dessert waiting for us!  And even tho the crust was a bit hard, the pie was still delicious!

March Memories

Tribe: Stachydeae
Genus: Stachys
Species: Stachys fontqueri

I really couldn’t find out much about this plant that grows in our yard and all around in our region, at least.  It is in the mint family and goes by several different names, one being “heal-all”, so I am wondering if it once was used as a healing method.

Spring awakens the world with warmth, color, and new beginnings. A season of fresh air, blooming flowers, and moments filled with light and hope.

Ilene discovered this bird nest on the wire shelving on her deck right outside her back door. She didn’t know what bird had built it.  I told her it was more than likely a Carolina wren as it seems they like to build their nests near the house.  Maybe there’s less chance of predators stealing the eggs that way.  3/25/25

We must be careful of the people we hang around with because they will have an influence on us! And we are known by the people we hang around with, so choose wisely! And don't take for granted that "influential" people are the people we need to hang around with! Choose friends who are like-minded.

I chose two quotes because I think they can go along with one another…

When you first look at the picture I took, you may see nothing but the sky…at first.  Then your eyes travel to the ground.  Lots of people like to look at the clouds, including me.  There’s something quite peaceful about watching them move across the sky.  Sometimes your mind’s eye may even see an image in the clouds.

When I took this picture March 4, 2025 with my phone, I had one thing I was “focused” on…..in the sky…..  What do you see in this picture?  Do you see nothing…..or do you see something beautiful in a very ordinary place?

On the day I took the picture, I saw a bird soaring on the wind…maybe looking for his next meal…maybe just enjoying a peaceful flight in a beautiful sky!

I pictured the angel of the Lord (actually Jesus Christ pre-incarnate) speaking to Jacob on his journey from his home in the land of Canaan to his mother's family in Padanaram. He promised Jacob He would be with him and make a great nation of him and through his seed all the families of the earth would be blessed (because of Jesus). Later on, the Lord changed Jacob's name to Israel when Jacob returned to his father's house some 20 years later.

Happiness is a choice!   Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.". This verse encourages believers to find joy in all situations, regardless of circumstances, by focusing on their relationship with God. 

"Rejoice always" is a direct command to be happy, even in difficult times.

"In the Lord” is the source of this joy and comes from our connection with God. 
Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart". 
Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it". 
Psalm 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy".
