Days 15 - 19

Day 15

Wonders Never Cease!

It was 7 degrees when I got up at 8 today!!  I worked on the computer until it was time to pick up Mark for lunch.  We went to Mamma Mia’s and split our usual Chicken Philly Sub combo.  It is still a lot of food for me.  I usually end up giving Mark half of my fries and today he took about half of my half back to work with him.  After I took him back to work, I went to the bank to drop off the church deposit then went to CVS to pick up one of Mark’s prescriptions and PMs for myself.  Once I got back home I got the mail from the box, refilled the bird feeders and started Mark’s laundry.  Ilene didn’t get home from the cruise until 6:30 this morning after driving all night from Florida.  12/15/25

Day 16

Gentle Morning

Got up when Mark left for work at 5:30ish today.  First things first.....coffee!  The perfect recipe for my coffee is one pod run through the Keurig with 18 ounces of water.  Add 2 ice cubes to begin the cooling-off process and add almost 2 ounces of French vanilla creamer.  Stir and enjoy!  After my coffee was fixed and the dishes put away from the dishwasher, then I started scanning pictures from photo albums into the computer so I can let my oldest daughter take the photo albums with her in January.  I took a break when I went to pick Mark up for lunch at Rancho’s.  After dropping him back at work, I went to Food Lion for a few things.  And then back home to begin scanning again.  I stopped to feed Asher and let him out.  By then it was time for Mark to get home.  While he was working in the woods, I did some scrapbooking.  What a beautiful sunset he shared with me!    Since we went to lunch, he didn’t want to eat until after dark.  Cornbread and leftover turkey veggie soup.  Devotions, TV, bedtime!  12/16/25

Day 17

The Journey to Bethlehem

Today I spent the day going through my scrapbooks and determining which ones to send home with my daughter next month and pulling out pictures of everyone to scan and separate into groups to go home with each of my four kids.  Included are pictures of the grands.  I decided to send all of the professional photos home, too.  Time for the memory books for the grands to be put together.  It will be up to my daughters and daughters-in-law, probably!

Since I was busy all day with that, I had planned an easy peasy supper of leftover turkey heated in turkey gravy, instant mashed potatoes, biscuits and something green for Mark.  He chose Brussels sprouts.  When he got home from work and after taking care of Piper, he got his shower and I worked on supper.  We ate while we listened to our daily Bible reading that goes along with the Bible series by Stephen Davey at Shepherd’s Church in Cary, NC.  We have gone to several of the Bible conferences held there in October.

Then it was time for my shower and church.  I wanted to get our selfie at church but forgot, so I took another one when we got home before I could forget again!

On the way home we looked for Mary and Joseph as they travel to “Bethlehem”.  They will arrive by December 25th.  I think the Baptist church in Wallburg takes care of moving them closer to their destination each day.  Someone used to have them traveling down Friendship Ledford Road.  12/17/25

Day 18

Live Laugh Love

I worked on scanning pictures in the morning before I went to Ilene’s for the day.  As usual, the first item on our agenda is to go out for lunch.  Today we went to Randy’s and both got the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy.  She added okra also.  I’m not a huge fan!

When we got back to the house she showed me the things she brought back from her cruise, including my gift “for forgetting to water her flowers!”  HA!

She showed me the new hole in her wall where she tripped and fell the day before she left on her cruise with the family.  It’s a good thing she hit between the studs, or she may have broken her shoulder!  Her back was all bruised and she was still stiff and sore.  I rubbed some “heat” on her back and shoulders when I got there and before I left.  I’m glad it helps!  She is an adventure!

We also finished the puzzle we had started before she left on her trip.  Buford’s cousin, Ethel, came over to visit and was going to bring a glow-in-the-dark puzzle but she forgot it.  That should be interesting to work!

I left around 2:45 so I could do some more scanning.  Mark ate more of the leftovers from the day before for his supper.  I ate some pimento cheese I got while out.  12/18/25

Day 19

This

Up at 5 today.  Since I was up I grabbed Mark for today’s selfie before he headed to work as I didn’t remember to get one last night until before bed.

Today I will take the scrapbooks from our old church to Liz so she can make the drop while in WV.

I am loving the color of the cactus bloom from Ilene’s plant.

Mark is only working until 2 today.  The rain has stopped and it is warmer, so he wants to get some work done in the woods.

Laundry is about the only real chore I am doing today and chicken is for supper!  12/19/25
