December Daily

I've been working on a page a day for December.  I told DH I was going to be taking a selfie with him every day.  He grumbles a bit, but....so far he has been cooperative!  I just have to remember to do it each day!

December Daily with Anna Aspnes

Day 1

Picture Perfect

Pretty chilly out today! But the sky is beautiful! The temps are to be chilly all week! 'Tis the season!' I worked in the kitchen first thing, putting the dishes away from the turkey dinner we shared with Kayden, Eli, and Jaxon, while my coffee was brewing. I also put the rest of the dishes in the dishwasher to run.

I also swept the floor around the dining room table and the kitchen area. I made the bed. I did a load of laundry to wash the tablecloth and towels. I turned on the self-cleaning oven since the turkey juices had cooked over. I went to the bank to make the church deposit and then went to CVS to pick up the Ozempic for Mark. Ran it back home and put it in the refrigerator before heading over to pick up Mark for lunch. We went to Mamma Mia's. I love the painting on the wall there and took a picture of it.

I told Mark I wanted to get a selfie of us every day this month. We shall see if I remember! 12/1/25

Day 2

One Photo at a Time

I order the prints of my digital scrapbook pages from Persnickety Prints in Utah. I am always on the lookout for their sales. So I try to stay ahead of the game by making sure I have my pages the size I want them printed. The regular pages are 8”x8” while the family gatherings and month review pages are 12”x12”. The bike pages are 8.5”x11”.

Their print quality is fantastic and I receive my orders very quickly! I had 3 scrapbooks started: one for the 12x12, one for the 8x8, one for the 8.5x11. The bike scrapbook has room for quite a bit yet. However, the other 2 are bursting at the seam so I put all of my art journaling pages in a separate scrapbook and all of the other miscellaneous pages, like scripture pages and holiday and miscellaneous challenge pages in another scrapbook. I had to run to Hobby Lobby for more page protectors. In my order was a notice of their next 25% off sale the first week of January. So, I want to have the rest of 2025 pages done by then.

Day 3

Chilly Willy

It was a cold, frosty morning. 28 was the temperature showing on the thermometer in the kitchen that is linked to the thermometer outside on the deck. It looked like we had a light dusting of snow, but it was only frost. I stepped out in my house coat and slippers to get some pictures. I certainly didn’t stay out for very long! I went back inside to brew some coffee and nurse my headache.

The frozen ziti I had for lunch certainly was good on this cold day!

I almost forgot to get our selfie for the day. We got back from church and when we walked in the door I got our picture. I love it when Mark wears the fedora I bought for him earlier in the year!

Day 4

Puzzling

I had to go to the grocery store first thing this morning to get some things for Mark to eat while he is preparing for the endoscopy pro- cedure tomorrow. I picked up a couple of egg McMuffins from McDonalds before going home. After I got back home and put things away, I fixed up some lunch to take to share with Ilene.....turkey salad and chips with slider buns. We played Rummikub after we ate breakfast. Then we ate lunch and then got a new puzzle out to work. We spent the rest of the day on the puzzle.

Mark had a root canal done today and he went home after work and laid down to get rid of the headache from the root canal. When I got home, I took today’s selfie. 12/4/25

Day 5

BRRR!  Winter

Mark was not feeling great this morning, so he stayed home from work. He laid on the couch (after we got up at 9) and watched TV while I “worked” at the OScraps site acknowledging the layouts that had been posted to my One Word - Holiday challenge. Lots of activity on the site! Mark was feeling much better when I took his picture on the couch after his shower.

The forecast was possible snow over night. It sleeted for a few minutes last night before bed, but that was about it. We awoke to rain and 38 degrees this morning.

Mark had an endoscopy appointment. He was not allowed to eat 4 hours before the appointment at 2:30 and he was been on a light diet of clear liquids and jello! No red dyes allowed. So, I did not eat, either! We discussed where we would eat after the appointment. We decided to wait and see what struck our fancy at the time of leaving the appointment...FOOD of any sort would probably work...except fish! The appointment took longer than we thought so we ended up going through the drive-thru at Dairi-O, eating the fries on the way home, and finishing up at the house. 12/5/25

Day 6

Bon Appetit and Laundry

Up at 8 today. Mark had my coffee made and was on his way to the hardware store to get some screws to work on the electricity in the cabin. I fixed breakfast of scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy. When he came back to switch out his coffee mug for his tea mug, he made himself some turkey salad sliders for his lunch snack. Tonight’s supper will be spaghetti.

While Mark was in the woods working, I worked on the laundry. I have been trying to do more eco-friendly/natural products this year. So I have been using products from Revive, including their laundry detergent, oxi cleaner, dishwasher pods, clean products. They are pretty good. I do not like the toilet bowl cleaner, however. I have also switched from regular fabric softener to using dryer balls and essential oils to make the laundry smell nice. Works surprisingly well! 12/6/25

Day 7

On a Sunday

Today being Sunday, we leave earlier than usual for church so Mark can drive Dorothy’s van to get Carolyn and Lorien for church after he drops Dorothy and I off at the church.

During the Bible study, I spread my Bible and my notebook out on a board on my lap so I can take notes during the sermon. This helps me stay focused.

After church we wait at the church while he takes Carolyn and Lorien home.

While Mark was helping Dorothy into her house, I called Mamma Mia’s and ordered a pizza to pick up on the way home.

After eating, I played my daily crossword puzzle game before getting the church deposit worked up and the tithe amounts recorded for each individual. Then I worked on the end-of-the-year letters I will be giving each person who wrote a check for their tithes this year. The rest of the afternoon was spent scrapping and finishing up my widows’ devotional and Mark watching football. 12/7/25

Day 8

Let It Snow

Monday is bank deposit day for the church offering from Sunday.  While I am out, I run to the grocery store if I need anything.  Today  Mark needed some things to take to work.....everything pita crackers, everything bagels, a block of mild cheddar cheese and a couple of bananas.

While I was in the grocery store our pastor called to see if I was home so he could drop something off to me.  I told him my plan to take the groceries home, pick Mark up at 11 for lunch and invited him to join us since he was coming this way anyway.

So he met us at Cagney’s.

It had been a mix of rain/ snow all morning, but during lunch the snow picked up, but it was still very wet.  A perfect day to stay home and read or play on the computer!  12/8/25

It takes longer to do the grocery shopping since the store is remodeling and moving things around!  Just another good reason to let them do my shopping!!!

Our pastor and good friend.  He and his sweet wife, Joy, are our motorcycle partners!
