Journaling reads:
The Lighthouse
by The Hinsons, 1970
I thank God for the lighthouse,
I owe my life to Him.
For Jesus is the lighthouse,
and from the rocks of sin,
He has shown the light around me
that I might clearly see
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
tell me where would this ship be?
"There is peace even in the storm." – Vincent van Gogh
Even on a less-than-perfectly-sunny-day at the beach, listening to the waves as they break onto the beach is calming and peaceful to me. And I could sit beneath an umbrella all day long and just watch and listen as the stresses of life melt away! Kara 2011
I love seeing lighthouses at the ocean. They remind me of the peace a sailor feels when being tossed by the sea and he catches a glimpse of the light calling him to the peace of the solid ground. All of a sudden he has hope. That is what Jesus did for me.
In the Bible, a lighthouse symbolizes guidance, hope, and salvation, akin to God's presence and wisdom. While not explicitly mentioned, its essence is reflected in scriptures like Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path,” emphasizing divine guidance.
The most prominent verse that says "Jesus is our peace" is Ephesians 2:14: "For He Himself is our peace, who has made us both one." This verse highlights Jesus' role as the One who reconciles people to God and to each other, ultimately bringing peace.

Rest & Peacefulness
Week 2 is found here: https://oscraps.com/community/threads/june-aj-week-2-rest-peacefulness.42240/
Journaling reads:
Peace /pēs/ noun
- The absence of war or other hostilities.
- An agreement or a treaty to end hostilities. "negotiated the peace.”
- Freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmonious relations
We are in a war and will be until the time when God casts the devil into the lake of fire which burns forever and ever.
- John 16:33
"I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
This verse acknowledges the reality of earthly struggles while assuring believers that peace can be found in Jesus, who has overcome the world. We will have no real peace without Jesus in our lives. - Ephesians 6:11-16
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. ... For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
We must use every piece of the armor of God, including truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the word of God, in our spiritual battle against the devil. - James 4:7
"Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
The first step in resisting and defeating the devil having control in our lives is to lose our pride and lean on God for the help we need in the battle. - 1 John 3:8
"For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, to break up the works of the Devil."
The devil’s days are numbered. God already defeated him on the cross. - 1 Peter 5:8
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour." - 1 John 4:4
"You are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
Everyday is a spiritual battle with the devil and we must rely on God’s power and strength to defeat him.
Rest
There is hope in the war as we rest in the Lord! We will be able to lay our armor down when we leave this world to enter our heavenly home!
- Matthew 11:28-30:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
What a wonderful invitation from the Lord Himself, promising relief from the burdens of life. - Psalm 4:8:
"In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." When we put our complete trust in the Lord, we will find security and peace found in His presence in our lives, assuring believers that we can rest in His care. - Hebrews 4:9-11:
"So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered God's rest has also rested from his own work, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, earnestly strive to enter that rest, lest anyone fall by the same kind of disobedience."
God the Father rested from His work of Creation as He beheld His work and said, “It is very good!” Jesus, God the Son, rested from His work in Salvation as He said, “It is finished!” on the cross and bowed His head and died for our sins. And now we have the promise of eternal rest in God for those who trust Him. God the Holy Spirit is still working to convict men of sin and draw them into the Family of God. But, one of these days, before eternity begins, He will finish His work, too! What a sad day that will be for those who reject the work of redemption from sin through the death of Jesus. We will receive a crown of righteousness when we enter the gates to that heavenly city! And we will throw them at the feet of Jesus! Thank You, Lord! - The dragon, the devil, works his evil schemes across the earth as he is the prince, the power of the air. But, one day..... God will cast him into hell. The clock is ticking! The eye of the Lord is beholding the evil and the good of all of mankind. Proverbs 15:3
