Anna Aspnes Designs and Rachel Jefferies at OScraps

I got some of Anna's products to play with a couple of days ago.  I participated in the AnnaLift (a scrap lift challenge) and a miscellaneous layout so far.  I still have to work with the Travel Album, which I plan on doing today.  Links for all are below.  To see which products were actually used on the pages, click on them to go to the gallery.

Simple Ordinary Moments

Done for the Anna Lift found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/annalift-challenge-02-24-23-03-17-23.37260/

Journaling reads:  Enjoying time with friends and the beauty of Spring.

I took inspiration from Helene’s clean page and added very few elements making the photo the center of attention.

I used art strokes, paint and splatter from the Palette and Artsy Template and a mask from the FrameMasks and elements from the Everyday WordArt.

Daily Joys

Journaling reads:  The monthly widow’s meeting was a great time of devotion, singing, food and fellowship.  I am blessed that I can take part in these meetings of encouragement for these special ladies.

The food is always so good!

Today’s menu:

Quiche

Sausage balls

Zucchini bread

Arugula Salad

Pistachio dessert

I love Anna's products!  I love being able to blend the photos into the background to give the pages an artsy feel!  And I love that she includes the psd files so you can use just bits and pieces of all of the lovely layers to make the pages your own!  It helps to be able to recolor as needed, too!  Here's the links to the products for the above layouts.

I'll be playing with this set today!

I'm still trying to "figure out" the mixed media/art journaling types of pages.  I can do them digitally so much better than using physical papers and paints and ephemera, however!  The following page is a little plain, but I put lots of journaling on it using Rachel Jefferies products.

The Season of Old

Done for the March 2023 Rachel Jefferies Designer Challenge found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/2023-03-rachel-jefferies-march-2023-mixed-media-challenge.37283/

Journaling reads:  I don’t think that I have ever been “afraid” of getting old.  Life happens too quickly to spend a lot of time thinking about it!  And, I can’t deny that life can get pretty messy, but I’ve been too blessed to be stressed about it!  I try to take one day at a time and enjoy each day I am given to live, aches and pains and all!  There’s comfort in knowing that this life is just a stepping stone to the eternal, heavenly home that awaits me!

Quote:  Know that you are the perfect age.  Each year is special and precious, for you shall only live it once.  Be comfortable with growing old.

Louise Hay

Song:

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

Ira F. Stanphill

Verse 1
I don’t know about tomorrow;
I just live from day to day.
I don’t borrow from its sunshine
For its skies may turn to grey.
I don’t worry o’er the future,
For I know what Jesus said.
And today I’ll walk beside Him,
For He knows what lies ahead.

Chorus
Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.

Verse 2
Every step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden’s getting lighter,
Every cloud is silver-lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye;
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky.

Verse 3
I don’t know about tomorrow;
It may bring me poverty.
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the pathway that be my portion
May be through the flame or flood;
But His presence goes before me
And I’m covered with His blood.
