Journaling reads:  Ilene’s cousin, Jo, is spending a couple of weeks with her.  But this weekend they are both traveling back to WV and Ilene will spend a couple of weeks there.  Jo loves to play Rummikub over Qwirkle, so that is what we played each time we got together... after eating out, of course!            7/30/25

Week 4 AJ Challenge

Week 4 found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/july-art-journal-challenge-week-4-connections.42514/

A relationship with Jesus Christ should profoundly impact a believer's life, fostering transformation, providing purpose, and offering hope and peace. It should lead to a more Christ-like character, impacting thoughts, actions, and interactions with others. This relationship should also bring about a sense of belonging, security, and a desire to live a life that reflects God's love and teachings.

1. Transformation and Character Development:

  • Shifting Perspective:
A relationship with Jesus changes how a person views the world, offering a God-centered perspective rather than a self-centered one.
  • Growing in Virtue:
It fosters the development of Christ-like qualities such as love, compassion, forgiveness, and humility.
  • Living a Purposeful Life:
This relationship provides a sense of meaning and direction, aligning one's actions with God's will and purpose.

2. Providing Hope and Peace:

  • Overcoming Fear and Anxiety:
Faith in Jesus can alleviate fear and anxiety by providing a sense of security, knowing that one is loved, forgiven, and has eternal life.
  • Experiencing Inner Peace:
This relationship can bring a deep sense of peace that transcends circumstances, knowing that God is in control and provides guidance.
  • Facing Trials with Confidence:
Faith in Christ equips believers to face challenges and adversity with resilience and hope, knowing that God is with them.

3. Building Relationships with Others:

  • Embracing Love and Compassion:
A relationship with Jesus compels believers to love and care for others, reflecting the love that Christ has shown to them.
  • Seeking Reconciliation and Forgiveness:
This relationship fosters a spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation, both towards others and oneself.
  • Living in Community:
It encourages connection with other believers, creating a supportive environment for spiritual growth and mutual encouragement.

4. Seeking God's Presence and Guidance:

  • Daily Connection:
A relationship with Jesus involves a conscious effort to connect with God through prayer, scripture reading, and worship.
  • Seeking God's Will:
It cultivates a desire to understand and follow God's plan for one's life, seeking guidance and wisdom through prayer and scripture.
  • Recognizing God's Presence:
It involves a heightened awareness of God's presence and work in everyday life, acknowledging His blessings and guidance.

In essence, a relationship with Jesus Christ is a transformative journey that impacts every aspect of life, from personal character to relationships with others and one's purpose in the world.

One Ordinary Day

Journaling reads:  After my haircut, I went to Elisabeth’s to spend the afternoon with her and Abby.  She fixed biscuits and gravy for brunch and then we went thrifting.  We plan to get together again next week, Elisabeth’s last week home before having to report back to school!  7/24/25

Framily (Friends that are like Family = Framily)

Done for Challenge #4 - Quote to Word Art found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/july-challenge-4-quote-to-wordart.42377/

Journaling reads:  Besides family, among friends is the best place to be!  Sometimes family becomes more distant as children move to different states and close friends become family.  Ilene has become part of our family.  And her cousin, Jo, could quickly become part of the family if she lived close by.  She visits with Ilene two weeks during the summer.  I enjoy spending time with both of these sweet, Christian ladies.  7/23/25

Year Flashback, New Siggie, Misc.

Happy Garden 2022

Done for the Year Flashback Challenge #5 found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/july-challenge-5-year-flashback.42398/

Journaling reads:

In July of 2022 we had tomato vines and cantaloupe vines growing over and out of the bounds of my 3-tiered boxes!  When they began ripening we couldn’t eat them fast enough!  Unfortunately, the other things I planted didn’t do very well at all!

Grow Wild & Free

I was so surprise when I walked out onto the patio this morning and saw these tomato plants growing in this pot.  There is also a tomato plant in the tiered planter boxes I have.  They are volunteer because I did not plant them!  Not this year, anyway!  Mark will tell you that I am not very observant, but I’m pretty sure they were not there last week, so they had to have popped up after all the rain we got this week.  Now, let’s see if I can keep them alive!  7/12/25

2025 Summer Siggie

I still had a winter scene as my siggie at OScraps.  I decided since the year is half over it was time for me to change it, LOL!

Color Play Challenge

The designers at OScraps are given a color palette each month as inspiration for the Color Play products.  The products are wonderful as they are easily mixed and matched among all the kits created by the designers.  This month one of the challenges is to use the Color Play products.  You can do a page in any theme you want.  Here's mine:

A Moment in Time

Done for the Color Play Challenge #2 found here:  https://oscraps.com/community/threads/july-challenge-2-color-play.42391/

Abby spent a couple of days with us this week and we had a great time.  But I’m also saddened by the fact that she is no longer that spunky, 3 year old child that lived with us for about 3 months with her family while my daughter and her husband looked for a house in 2014.  She turned 14 in April.  My!  How the time has flown by!  It seems like just a moment in time!  July 2025
